Animation Dingle will select a number of animated short films from our submissions and exhibit the work in our unique venues throughout the festival.
The festival hosts RTÉjr Animation Dingle Student Awards ceremony at the festival. On the night, our special guests to the festival present the awards to the winning students.

YAOTY
Are YOU, or is someone you know, the next Young Animator of the Year?
Each year, secondary school & first year college students from all over the island of Ireland are invited to submit their short animated films to the national YOATY Awards.
Animation Dingle’s Young Animator of The Year, (YAOTY) runs annually with the support of our friends in Disney+.

STINGS
Each year we set our theme for STINGS and GAME STINGS around our infamous mascot, An Phiast.
Our STINGS submissions are always highly competitive and each year we are delighted with the creativity that shines through.
Remember, if your sting is selected, your Monster Film will be revealed LIVE for all to see at Animation Dingle 2026.
And, if your Game Sting is selected, your Monster Game will be exhibited at our Studio Fair for all to see at Animation Dingle 2026.

The Big Pitcher
Submit your idea to be in with a chance to win a 3 month paid internship at JAM Media and the opportunity to Pitch at Cartoon Springboard Oct 2026.
Submissions can be for an animated tv series, a pilot episode or short film.
Selected students will pitch at Animation Dingle Conference on 20th March 2026 to a panel of animation industry experts.
