General Info
Dingle is a small fishing village located in Kerry, on the west coast of Ireland. Please see here for more information on how to get there.
Dingle is a small town and very easy to navigate on foot. However, we do operate a complimentary shuttle bus that runs all day between our venues. No need to book – just hop on and hop off!
Animation Dingle is strictly over 18s, excluding our Family and School events which are open to the public and advertised separately.

Dingle is easy to navigate and it is renowned for its hospitality. However, it is is a small town and accommodation is finite. We recommend securing your accommodation as early as you can.

However, more can be found online. If you have a car, more options can also be found along the Dingle Peninsula.
We cannot provide discount codes for accommodation.
Festival Passes
Festival Passes will go on sale in Autumn 2026. Prices can be found here.
Festival Passes will go on sale via our website. We use Eventbrite to support our ticketing system.
When you purchase your Festival Pass you will be emailed a QR Code.
When you purchase your Festival Pass you will be emailed a QR Code. On arrival to Dingle, come to our desk in the Dingle Skellig Hotel to collect your pass.
Once there, we will scan your QR Eventbrite Code and give you your Festival Pass on a lanyard as well as a wristband. Both the Festival Pass and the wristband must be shown to gain access to all events at the festival. The Festival Pass will have your name on it. It is not transferable and can only be used by you.
Your Festival Pass allows access to all events occuring throughout the 3 days of the festival. This includes screenings, workshops, talks, the Careers and Recruitment Fair, the Animation Dingle Awards and much, much more.
Student Festival passes are heavily subsidized by the Festival. Animation Dingle has endeavoured to keep the price increase over the past number of years to a minimum despite the running costs of festivals and events rising exponentially throughout the last few years.
We work hard to fill the programme with as many events, screenings and talks as possible and have expanded to be a three-day festival without raising the price of tickets, all to ensure that our attendees get the most out of their purchase.
No. The only way to attend Animation Dingle is through purchase of a Festival Pass. Your Festival pass will allow access to all programmed events.

The late deadline to submit your film for Animation Dingle 2027 is December 9th, 2026.
All submitters will be notified on January 18th, 2027.
Every film submitted to Animation Dingle is watched by 2-3 members of the Selection team, who score each film. The final score determines which films are screened at the festival, as well as final nominees.
The Animation Dingle Selector Team varies each year, consisting of members of the Animation Dingle team, as well as volunteers from the animation community.
Accessibility
All venues; Dingle Skellig Hotel, Wave Dingle Theatre and St.James Church are accessible with spaces for wheelchairs and all toilets located on the ground floor, however please note that St. James Church is located up a short pebbled driveway. Cars are able to drive to the door if needed.
Each venue is navigatable by foot. They are located approximately 15 minutes walk from each other. However, Dingle town has very narrow streets and paths that may be difficult to navigate if you have mobility issues. A free hop-on, hop-off shuttle bus runs throughout the festival to assist attendees in need. It travels on a loop throughout the town, starting at the Dingle Skellig Hotel.

Unfortunately, we are currently unable to provide live captioning or ISL Interpreters during festival events. With regards to the screening programme, CC subtitles are available on a selection of films that are not in the English language, however we are unable to ask that selected animators provide SDH subtitles with their films, as the animators are typically working with a limited budget. We sincerely apologise for this. We are continuously working to improve our accessibility options available at the the festival.

Animation Dingle is a hectic and busy festival. Our numbers are specifically capped at 750 attendees, but given the size of the venues and popularity of certain events, such as the Pitch & Pint, Animation Dingle Awards, The Big Pitcher and more, it can potentially feel overwhelming.
On arrival to the festival, every attendee must collect their Festival Pass at the Registration Desk in the Dingle Skellig Hotel lobby. Queues will fluctuate throughout the day, but it will be busiest on the first afternoon of the festival. For attendees in need, we are able to arrange for a Quiet Hour, during which you can collect your pass. Please contact info@animationdingle.com for more information.
Audio levels of the short film programmes screened at the festival can sometimes fluctuate from film to film. Our team endeavours to ensure all films play at a suitable volume all, but we recommend bringing ear guards/plugs if you think you may be uncomfortable.
